I was sitting at an intersection this morning waiting for the light to turn green. I was on my way home from morning errands, my youngest son was with a babysitter ( a huge luxury for me) and my older son was at Kindergarten. Just before the light turned green I realized how much I needed a walk in a beautiful natural setting. I switched lanes, turned left and directly into our local arboretum to take a 20 minute walk among the freshly blooming spring flowers and shaded trails.
I left everything in my car except my phone so I knew what time it was (I don’t wear a watch), and my camera. This flower (I don’t know its name) was the first beautiful thing that caught my eye. It is such a detail rich subject. I bent down trying to catch the warm light and incredible details.
When I arrived back home and happened to see the latest Weekly Photo Challenge “Lost in the Details” I am honestly shocked at how fitting a photograph I took just hours earlier is for this challenge. What a way to start the weekend, a walk by myself in a beautiful place, surrounded by spring flowers blooming and photo opportunities around every corner. Happy Friday!

The view of this magnificent flower was very inspiring ; tomorrow morning I’ll go to visit the Botanical Garden ,though there won ‘t be such marvelous species….
The details,in your photo , are really amazing!
Thank you! It really is a striking flower and I am so happy I gave myself the opportunity to see it today. I hope you find something marvelous to photograph, Botanical Gardens are magical places for me. Enjoy!

I love these “details”. Just came from another blog that must use the same challenge and they also focused on nature. I so agree with your perspective on Botanical Gardens.
Thank you Tammy, yes Botanical Gardens are so magical! Happy to know there are others out there who find magic in the same places
I always get lost in the details of nature, it happens every time!
